The H2O Game

Every drop of water on planet Earth is ancient. It's millions of years old. The water in your faucet, your body and the toilet cistern. The water in the womb, in the swimming pool, in the fields, in your food, in the melting glaciers, in creeks and seas.

While some dream of water on Mars, water on Earth is either missing or overflowing.

The H2O Game premieres at Kolding Egnsteater 25.-28. april 2026.

The H2O Game is developed as part of the international Biodiversa+-project, Are Best NbS, which is supported by Innovation Fund Denmark, with a purpose of exploring nature-based solutions and stakeholders' engagement in biodiversity and their local areas. In Denmark the research explores the Vejle-membrane and how lived experiences might affect different stakeholders' engagement and actions in the local environment. Secret Hotel is associated with the research process as artists, and in return we gain a lot of knowledge about water.

The research project is made in collaboration with Department of Business and Sustainability – University of Southern Denmark (DK), UiS Business School – University of Stavanger (NO), Center for Molecular and Environmental Biology – University of Minho (PT), MOME Innovation Center – Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design (HU) and Department of Sustainable Development – Utrecht University (NL).
